Vashti
Speech Pathologist
Vashti’s journey as a speech pathologist began in Townsville, where she graduated with honors from James Cook University, earning a Bachelor of Speech Pathology. Growing up in a rural community outside of Cloncurry, Vashti developed a deep understanding of the challenges faced by families with limited access to healthcare. This experience sparked her passion for speech pathology and her desire to support individuals experiencing communication-related stigma and discrimination.
Vashti has gained valuable clinical experience in diverse settings, including acute hospitals and remote communities. She has honed her skills working with both pediatric and adult populations, continually expanding her clinical toolbox. Vashti’s areas of expertise include voice, pragmatics (social communication skills), dysphagia (swallowing difficulties), receptive and expressive language, articulation, and augmentative and alternative communication.
In addition to her qualifications, Vashti has also obtained specialized training in the implementation of the Hanen “It Takes Two to Talk” Program.
