What is a Speech Pathologist?

A Speech Pathologist is an allied health professional who works with people to assess and treat communication and swallowing disorders, which may occur across the lifespan. Speech pathologists work with people who present with developmental delays, neurodevelopmental disorders, stroke, a brain injury, an intellectual disability, dementia, progressive neurological disorders, or other conditions which may affect communication and swallowing.
