Elissa
Speech Pathologist
Elissa is a Speech Pathologist who has enjoyed working with both paediatric and adult caseloads. Elissa has experience working with alternative and augmentative communication, dysphagia, social communication, speech and language delays, literacy development as well as stuttering intervention programs.
Elissa graduated from James Cook University with a Bachelor of Speech Pathology. Throughout her degree and clinical work, Elissa has experience working in acute hospital, aged care and disability settings. Elissa is now enjoying working in the community rehabilitation setting. Elissa is passionate about working with participants to achieve their communication and mealtime goals through their rehabilitation journey. Elissa has an interest in neurological rehabilitation and neuroplasticity.
Elissa is proficient and experienced in completing assessment and intervention for the following:
- Articulation
- Expressive and receptive language
- Pragmatics (social communication skills)
- Stuttering
- Phonological awareness
- Alternative and augmentative communication
- Voice
- Dysphagia (swallowing)
Elissa has obtained additional qualifications to implement the following Speech Pathology programs:
- Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets (PROMPT)
- Lee Silverman Voice Treatment Loud (LSVT Loud)
- Hanen ‘It Takes Two To Talk’ Program
- Sounds-Write Linguistic Program
