Mental Health Team Leader
Kate is a registered Social Worker under the Australian Association of Social Workers at Alliance Rehabilitation. Social Work encompasses 3 core values of Respect for Persons, Professional Integrity and Social Justice whilst taking a person-centred holistic approach.
Kate graduated from James Cook University with a Bachelor of Social Work. She has experience working with complex mental health diagnosis’s, grief and loss, social engagement, NDIS and My Aged Care. Areas of professional interest include geriatric counselling and carer support, mental health both individual and family, and the utilisation of CBT and Acceptance and Commitment therapy. Kate proides herself on being an advocate for her clients and incorporates a recovery focused practice.
Kate has experience with the skills of de-escalation, behavioural concerns, cognitive declines, reframing and normalisation, solutions focused, interpersonal skills, crisis management and much more. Kate enjoys working within the multidisciplinary health team and enjoys liaising with external providers on how best to support her clients to achieve their goals.
