Social Worker
Kara is a Social Worker at Alliance Rehabilitation. She is passionate about delivering person-centred services and continues to expand her professional footprint. Social Work focuses wholly on the person allowing for a respectful, compassionate, and genuine partnership which fosters recovery and growth within the individual.
Kara graduated from James Cook University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Social Work. She has experience in community based environments targeting rehabilitation, counselling, grief and loss, homelessness, financial difficulties, drug and alcohol addictions, and family dynamics (domestic violence and child abuse). Areas of professional interest include all aspects of health including mental health, individual and family functioning, providing support for people through hardships and towards recovery, and advocating with and on behalf of clients. Kara is a very honest person and her approach to social work incorporates advocacy and human rights, with a recovery focused practice.
Kara has experience with the skills of de-escalation, normalisation, reframing, problem-solving, interpersonal skills, crisis intervention, and much more. She actively consults with the multidisciplinary health team and external providers to support her participants to achieve their goals.
