Earlier this year Alliance Rehabilitation committed to a Gold Sponsorship of the Southern Cross Catholic College Netball team to assist with their plans to compete in Brisbane at the QISSN competition.

Here’s a recent team update sent through from Jasmine the teams captain:

Good Morning Alliance Rehabilitation,

Our QISSN Netball team have received our new dresses and we absolutely love them – we hope you and the team at Alliance like them too!

We have been training hard throughout the term and although playing opportunities have been hard to come by we have made the most of every opportunity.

During Week 9 of Term One the team played against St Anthony’s Opens Netball Team, after a well played game of netball, we weren’t able to come away with the win, however the girls never gave up and continued to demonstrate sportsmanship, integrity and persistence, all values that the College sporting teams nurture.

Week 6 of Term 2, we traveled as a team to Ingham to play against Gilroy Santa Maria college, the girls played exceptionally well. Coming away with a very convincing win, the girls highlighted the high standards of netball that they are capable of playing.

During Term 2 in Week 7 the girls had the opportunity to play another game against St Anthonys. With multiple players out due to illness, the team was faced with a very challenging game. They overcame this, worked well together as a team and adapted to these late changes, by going down to a much smaller margin compared to the previous game.

Throughout the year we have versed the Open Boys Vicki Wilson Teams during lunch time play offs, these quick and intense games have been a great opportunity for the girls to play together and become familiar with the game times that they will be playing at the QISSN carnival.

With all this preparation, we as a team feel ready for QISSN and can’t wait for the amazing opportunities that we will experience while in Brisbane.

Thank you for your support, it is greatly appreciated, we look forward to updating you further!

Jasmine
QISSN Captain
