From 25th til the 31st of October we are celebrating our Occupational Therapy (OT) service and all our therapists who excel at what they do. With World Occupational Therapy Day also falling on Wednesday, we have even more reasons to take a dive into this profession and provide more of an insight into how OT’s can help you. What is Occupational Therapy?

OT as a recognised profession began in the early 1900’s and since then has grown to encompass a range of complex therapy treatments to assist people with injury, illness and disability. The term occupational therapy was derived from its origins in physical therapy through meaningful occupation including work and engagement with daily living tasks.

Modern OT is an evidence-based, collaborative and accessible practice that is a key service in a multidisciplinary allied health environment such as Alliance Rehabilitation. Our OT’s can work provide many types of assessment and therapy with some of the more routine include:
